Disaster relief program

Wherever and whenever children and families are in need, Kiwanians are there to help. Kiwanis-family districts, clubs and members are quick to respond when disaster strikes—because every second counts.

Donations to the Kiwanis International Foundation's disaster relief program may be made either online or by fax or mail. Please write "disaster relief" on your check or include a note that your gift is for disaster relief.

The mission of the Kiwanis International Foundation is to assist Kiwanis International to serve the children of the world. The foundation provides emergency and disaster-relief grants to support the efforts of Kiwanis-family districts and clubs that respond to disasters in their communities. Foundation grants make an immediate difference by harnessing the power of Kiwanis service to feed, clothe and shelter children and families who are affected by tragic events.

The Kiwanis International Foundation is grateful for the generous donations for disaster relief that it receives from concerned Kiwanians around the world. To ensure that these funds have the greatest impact, the foundation has recently revised its emergency and disaster relief fund policy.

In the event of a disaster and upon agreement by Kiwanis International and the Kiwanis International Foundation, Kiwanis-family clubs and members may be invited to donate funds to be used solely for disaster relief. The foundation shall accept funds for a particular disaster only upon advising the donor that at such time as the foundation, in its discretion, determines that disaster relief funds are no longer needed for that disaster, the foundation may use any amount remaining of such donor funds for disaster relief elsewhere.

Your donations will help the Kiwanis International Foundation make emergency grants upon application by Kiwanis-family clubs and districts in the affected areas. To facilitate the delivery of prompt assistance, clubs and districts applying for an emergency grant should send an email to the foundation’s Chief Operating Officer Ann Updegraff Spleth. Please include the amount you are requesting (up to US$5,000) and describe how your club or district will use the funds.
