Bo Shafer

Bo Shafer of Knoxville, Tennessee, served as President of Kiwanis International during the 2000–01 Kiwanis year. Bo is a 40-year member and past president of the Kiwanis Club of Knoxville and earned distinguished honors as Governor of the Kentucky-Tennessee District in 1988–89. He is a second-generation Kiwanian whose father was District Governor in 1965. Bo was a charter member of West High School Key Club and the University of Tennessee Circle K Club. Bo is an independent insurance agent and active in his community. He works with organizations, such as the Salvation Army, United Way, Children’s Hospital, Heart Fund and Ronald McDonald House. He is a co-founder of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Knoxville, the Knoxville Harvest to feed the hungry with restaurant food surpluses, and a Scout troop in a low-income housing project. He has received the Outstanding Civic Leader Award from the National Society of Fund Raising Executives.

Canton, Ohio’s punk-pop band Relient K formed in 1997. Band members are vocalist/guitarist/pianist Matthew Thiessen, guitarist Matt Hoopes, bassist John Warne, drummer Ethan Luck and guitarist/banjoist Jon Schneck.

Simon Curtis
Singer-songwriter Simon Curtis has been performing in national Broadway productions since he was 10. His breakout role was that of Royce in the made-for-TV movie, “Spectacular!”—Nickelodeon’s first movie musical. Simon has also appeared on “Hannah Montana” and other Disney/ABC Family productions, such as “Gotcha Covered.” Simon is a celebrity wildlife ambassador for Uganda and took part in the 2009 launch of the Friend a Gorilla campaign. He will walk with Key Club members in the charity walk to benefit Friend a Gorilla.
