Leadership Academy
Circle K International is offering its third annual CKI Leadership Academy to at least 64 Circle K members from around the world. Two emerging leaders from each district are eligible to attend.
Leadership Academy is an excellent opportunity to prepare club leaders for the coming year and develop emerging leaders within the district through participation in a life-changing leadership experience.
The 2010 Leadership Academy is Friday, May 14–Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Waycross Camp & Conference Center in Morgantown, Indiana.
District Administrators have selected participants for the 2010 CKI Leadership Academy, and we are happy to announce there are at-large vacancies for the general membership to apply. Applications for at-large positions will be accepted beginning Monday, April 19.
Two important things: You need to complete the attached CKI LA 2010 participant application form to be considered for one of the vacancies. Send your completed application to Chris Martz via e-mail at cmartz@kiwanis.org. Also, you need to be aware that there is $200 registration fee for Leadership Academy. The majority of the costs of the program (lodging, meals, and materials) are covered by CKI. Concerned about the registation fee? Check out this guide Help to get to LA!
This fee is due once your application is accepted and you are officially invited to register for the Leadership Academy. The fee can be paid via credit card during the online registration process.
Find out more about Leadership Academy!.
CKI Leadership Academy is an investment in the members of CKI. The six-day event is intense and focuses on the E6 Framework created by Brendon Burchard, author of the Student Leadership Guide. Facilitators walk students through the steps to envision, enlist, embody, empower, evaluate, and encourage. Students learn that true leadership is based on servant leadership, which requires leaders to put the needs of others first, and to realize that no matter whether or not you have a title, there is always a need for service to one another and to the world. This program takes members of CKI through an adventure, starting with the CKI amazing race and ending with a plan in place to serve. The most unique part of the program—and what sets it apart from others—is that students and facilitators have an opportunity to do a service project during the program.
